Building Communities

Westhab is building communities by developing and managing the affordable, supportive, and transitional housing our communities desperately need. Our real estate operations include ground-up developments and the preservation and rehabilitation of existing housing. Our team works on complex deals with a variety of financing sources to create attractive homes for our tenants and impactful community investments.

As a mission-driven nonprofit developer and service provider, we pursue real estate opportunities and design housing centered around the tenant experience that positively impacts the larger community. Our buildings offer abundant tenant amenities, cutting-edge sustainable design, and resources for entire neighborhoods.

Our region is facing an urgent housing crisis and an even more acute affordable housing crisis. Westhab envisions a community of housing abundance, not scarcity, where everyone has a safe, quality place to call home.

Building the Housing Our Communities Need

Space To Thrive

Affordable Housing

Westhab builds affordable housing throughout the New York metro region. We are experienced in all aspects of the development process including site selection, zoning analysis, financing, and construction administration. We have developed a diverse range of contextual housing options in both urban and suburban settings.

Supportive Housing

Supportive housing is permanent affordable housing with on-site services to support formerly homeless tenants in living independently with dignity within the community. Westhab has developed unique housing solutions for young adults, seniors, veterans, and people living with disabilities. Westhab developments seamlessly integrate supportive housing, making all building amenities and service opportunities available to all tenants.

Transitional Housing

Westhab develops “purpose-built” shelters with custom-designed layouts for optimal programming. No one knows how to create safe, effective shelter spaces better than the teams who serve these populations daily.
