Westhab is expanding its pantry services at Dayspring Community Center to include a second pantry every month. The second monthly offering is expected to serve over 100 households with large donations of fresh and dry food staples. Westhab is thrilled to announce that lottery applications are now open for Summit on Hudson, a 113-unit affordable housing residence located at 76 Locust Hill Avenue in Yonkers. Recently, City in the Community (CITC), the foundation proudly supported by New York City Football Club (NYCFC), stopped by one of Westhab’s South Bronx shelters to give back to the community through a product donation day. CITC and players from NYCFC First Team were joined by volunteers from Midea and NYCFC’s Front Office to deliver over $125,000 worth of donated Midea products. Westhab contracts with the Westchester Department of Social Services to provide job readiness, placement, and retention services to individuals on public assistance throughout Westchester County.
Last week, New York City began transporting groups of asylum-seeking families to various sites across the State, including Yonkers. Westhab is proud to share that we are in the process of mobilizing to take on operations of the Yonkers site.
