Fun and Games (and Ice Cream!) with the Reformed Church of Bronxville and the Dayspring Community Center

Every month, children from Westhab’s Dayspring Community Center in the Nodine Hill neighborhood of Yonkers visit Bronxville for the popular Bronxville Playgroup. Children from both towns shoot hoops, create craft projects, play board games, and share a meal. The Reformed Church of Bronxville hosts these monthly visits, with teen volunteers from Bronxville High School leading the activities. Parents from the Bronxville schools and church members coordinate the schedule and meals.

Christine Tormey coordinates the Playgroup. She and her husband Tom recently hosted the end of the year celebration at their home where the children spent the day playing outdoor games, enjoyed lunch together, and lined up to get a treat from the ice cream truck. Before the Dayspring children returned to Yonkers, they each received a gift.

The Bronxville Playgroup takes July and August off and will start up again in September. Thank you to our Bronxville volunteers and the Reformed Church of Bronxville for making the playgroup days so special!
