A Community Transformation

In Southwest Yonkers’ Nodine Hill neighborhood, the Dayspring Campus includes the state-of-the-art Dayspring Community Center and the 63-unit affordable and supportive Dayspring Commons residence next door. This $40M development represents the largest investment in a generation for a community that has been underserved and under-resourced for decades.

Since its reopening in 2022, the Dayspring Community Center has been a driving force for progress in Nodine Hill. By offering the opportunities the community needs, it addresses the root causes of poverty and homelessness and empowers community members to reach their goals. Dayspring is a community pillar – shaped by its participants, adapting to meet community needs, and providing transformative programming for youth, adults, and families to foster paths to college, careers, stability, and success.

Changing Lives in Nodine Hill, Yonkers

A Dayspring Is Here

Youth Program

Youth Programming is the cornerstone of the Dayspring Community Center. After-school programs and summer camps for children ages 5-12 provide academic support, health and wellness, arts, STEM, literacy, and sports. The Teen Center offers a safe space for middle and high school students to socialize, do homework, and use our basketball court and Teen Lounge. College readiness and career exploration help teens prepare for life after high school.

Career Prep

Community members can access free construction skills training and other career-focused programming that offer participants industry-recognized credentials and job placement support. Our full-service employment center is open to the public and provides help with all aspects of the job search process.

Community Services

Dayspring is an energetic hub, providing essential public services and a welcoming venue for communal gatherings. Monthly food pantries, workshops, a public business center, and community meetings support participants with vital resources and foster a platform for community engagement. Dayspring partners with local organizations to provide top-tier programming, including Neighbors Link, offering ESL classes, parent education, workforce training, and immigration legal services.
