Her mother passed away just days after her birth, so it was Latisha's grandmother who raised her and two sisters. When she was in 5th grade the family purchased a Westhab home on the east side of Yonkers, though as a teenager, Latisha returned to the southwest section of the city to work at our Youth Center in Nodine Hill. It was there that she participated in the "Skills for Life" program, became a teen counselor and learned about "Invest in Success", a scholarship program at Manhattanville College. The essay that Latisha submitted won her a full four year scholarship to the school. Now in her first year, Latisha plans to be prelaw, hoping one day to practice family law.
